Why We Should Be Supporting Black Women Entrepreneurship

Black women are the largest demographic to start businesses yet they are the least funded. More importantly, Black women-owned ventures only make $24,000 annually in revenue, only a 6th compared to white women entrepreneurs.

As we continue to shine light on the racial inequities facing minorities in this country, this talk will discuss the biases, inequities, and pay gap Black women entrepreneurs face despite the growing popularity in this demographic.

Autumn started Proxie, a community to bridge the gap between business resources and black women entrepreneurs, which directly works to alleviate these issues. As an advocate of Black women entrepreneurship, Autumn has the expertise to speak on these issues and provide insight on the path forward.

Attendees will walk away with a deep understanding of the challenges facing black women in entrepreneurship and actionable steps everyone can take to support and amplify black women business owners.

Key Takeaways:

  • Well-rounded analyses of the pay and growth gap for Black Women Entrepreneurship

  • The gaps in the entrepreneurship ecosystem for Black Women

  • How to support and amplify black women entrepreneurship

Intended Audience:

  • Entrepreneurship Conferences
